1 1) Who can access the app? What is the BSB app for? Where can we get it?
The BSB app is a medium to register farmers online for the RABI 2020-2021 season, generally used by the intermediary users. The app can be downloaded at Google Play Store- the link to which is given below:- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.ingreens.app.bsb 
2 2) Suppose, if a voter ID card is already registered, will the app mention it?
- Yes, off-course. It will show you all its applications details within the selected district. It will also allow you to add for any second crop / second plot in any separate block/GP.

3 3) How can we know if the voter ID card is not pre-registered & is completely fresh for registration in this season?
-  Post typing the voter ID card number, it will immediately show you the message- “AVAILABLE FOR NEW REGISTRATION!”

4 4) It is very confusing to remember which crops are notified in which blocks in a certain district. Is there any solution for this? It is not possible to see the notification issued by the State Government, several times, due to the time constraints. What can be done?
- Sure. BSB app for Rabi 2021 is developed quite user-friendly this time. Whenever any app user selects a certain block of his choice, a list of notified crops, pertaining to that selected block, is displayed right below in the panel section – “BSB NOTIFIED CROPS”. This will alter & change with whichever block you select. 
5 5) Is it necessary to fill all the fields?
- Yes, please follow the star mark at the corner of each field to ascertain the same.

6 6) Is “dot” accepted in the name field? For eg: “MR. XYZ”?? Shall it take submit?
– Yes. It will. 
7 7) Which applications fields in while entering data, once registered, cannot be editable later?
– 4 fields- (1) EPIC Card Number, (2) Farmer’s name, (3) Relation with Farmer's (4) Farmer's Bank Name.

8 8) What is the maximum permissible size for pictures to be uploaded?
- For the APP, it is 500KB. (Including Land document).
- For the PORTAL, it is 500 KB for all documents & 1 MB for land document.

9 9) What are the picture formats supported for pictures to be uploaded?
– JPG, JPEG, PDF, PNG.

10 What is the use of BSB App?
BSB App is used for on line registration of Farmers for Crop Insurance in the Bangla Shasya Bima portal.

12 Who can have access the App?
 | The intermediary users of the Implementing Agency who are activated by the IA.
13 How can it be checked whether a farmer is already registered in BSB?
Upon inserting the EPIC no., the App will show the details of the farmer, if he is already registered. Otherwise, the App will allow fresh registration and a message will pop up - “AVAILABLE FOR

NEW REGISTRATION!” 
14 Are all the fields in the App editable?
No. Upon inserting the EPIC no. of a pre-registered farmer, all fields get auto-populated. The following fields cannot be edited :-  (1) EPIC Number, (2) Farmer’s name, (3) Relationship with Farmer. 
15 Is “dot [.]” accepted in the name field?
 | Yes. Only dot [.] is acceptable in the Name field. No other punctuation is allowed.
16 Is it necessary to fill all the fields?
No. The compulsory fields are marked with star at the corner of each field 
17 If a farmer is already registered, will the App allow registration for insurance of additional crop and separate plot?
Yes. The App will allow adding additional crop and plot in the same as well as separate GP / Block. 
18 Is it possible to verify whether a crop is notified in a particular Insurance Unit?
Yes. Whenever a Insurance Unit ( Block / GP ) is selected in the App during registration, the notified crops will be shown in a drop down box. 
19 What is the maximum permissible size for pictures to be uploaded in the App?
500KB (Including Land document). 
20 What are the picture formats supported for pictures to be uploaded?
 JPG, JPEG, PDF, PNG.  
21 Who can access the Portal?
At Govt. level:- The State Level Users who are activated by the State Nodal Officer; the District Level Officers who are activated by the State Nodal Officer/User and the Block level Officers who are activated by the District Nodal Officer.

At IA level :- The State Level Users who are activated by the Govt. State Nodal Officer. Other users, who are activated by the State Level Officer of the IA.

At Bank level:- The State Level Users who are activated by the Govt. State Nodal Officer. Other users, who are activated by the State/District Nodal Officer of the concerned Bank. 
22 Who can make data entry in the Portal?
The Intermediary Users of the IA and / or other users who are activated by the State Level User of the IA.  
23 Who can approve the Farmers’ application?
The Implementing Agency (IA).
24 Do the Farmers have access in the Portal?
Yes. It is restricted to the Farmer's Corner and other features in the Home page. 
25 Can the Farmers download ‘Insurance Certificate’ from the Portal?
Yes. ‘Provisional Insurance Certificate’ can be downloaded by inserting EPIC No. in the Framers Corner in the Home page. 
26 How the Farmer know that his/her insurance application has been accepted / rejected?
A message regarding acceptance / rejection of application will be sent to his/her registered mobile number. 
27 What is the maximum permissible size for pictures to be uploaded in the Portal?
500 KB for all documents and 1 MB for land document.

1 What are the benefits of ‘Crop Insurance’?
1. Farmers who insure their crops will get
compensation if they suffer crop loss/ damage
arising out of any natural calamity.
2. Farmers will get assurance and confidence to
continue farming practices.
2 Does the State Government implement Crop Insurance?
The State Government implements the Scheme
through selected Insurance Companies [IA-
Implementing Agency]. The IA provides facility of
crop insurance to the farmers.
3 What is the role of State Government in Crop Insurance?
1. The State Government bears 100% of premium
as subsidy for all Notified crops except the
commercial crops- Potato and Sugarcane.
2. The State Government monitors implementation
of the scheme so that the willing farmers are
insured by the IA and the insured farmers get
compensation in case of their crop loss.
4 Which crops can be insured?
Only those crops which are notified by the State
Government before commencement of a crop
season will be covered under crop insurance.
5 How much premium is to be paid for Crop Insurance?
The farmer does not need to pay any premium for
Notified crops except for Potato and Sugarcane.
The State Government bears 100% of premium.
For Potato and Sugarcane, farmers have to bear up
to 4.85% of sum insured (SI) and the State
Government would bear the excess premium, if it is
above 4.85%.
6 What is the Sum Insured (SI)?
Sum Insured per hectare is equal to the Scale of
Finance (SOF) for the crop as decided by the
District Level Technical Committee and notified by
the State Government from time to time.
7 What is Indemnity level?
Indemnity level is the percentage of average yield upto which compensation is assured. There are three (3) levels of Indemnity depending on the risk level of the crops:- High (70%) ; Moderate (80%) and Low (90%). 
8 What is Threshold Yield?
 | It is the Average Yield [average yield of best five years of the last seven years] multiplied by the Indemnity level.
9 Which category of Farmers are eligible to do Crop Insurance?
All farmers including sharecroppers and tenant farmers growing the notified crops in the notified areas and having insurable interest are eligible 
10 What is the procedure of Insuring the Crop by the Farmer?
 | The State Government and the Insurance Companies make wide publicity about the Scheme well ahead in each season. Farmers have to visit the village level camps organized by the IA or the Block level offices of the Agriculture Department along with the requisite documents, viz. Voter Card, Land documents and Bank account details etc. and apply in the prescribed form or through BSB mobile App.
11 How can the farmers know that their crop has been Insured?
 | The farmer who has applied for crop insurance can visit the BSB Portal (https://banglashasyabima.net).  He / She can view his / her insured crop details in  the Farmer Corner by inserting the Voter Card No. The provisional insurance certificate can also be downloaded. 
12 What is the procedure of assessing claims?
Claim assessment is done either on the basis of Crop Cutting Experiments or through remote sensing technologies by monitoring the Crop Health Factor of the notified crop. 
13 What is Crop Health Factor?
 | Crop Health Factor is derived from the satellite data and rainfall / weather data to arrive at shortfall in expected yield of each notified crop.
14 Which losses are covered by Crop Insurance?
1.  Prevented sowing / Failed sowing – for major crops2.  Mid-season adversity – for major crops. 
3.  Season end claims – for all notified crops.
15 Where can the farmer lodge information about Crop Loss?
Farmer can inform about his crop damage through the toll free number of the Insurance Company and also through email. They may also report their crop loss to the Assistant Director of Agriculture of the block.  
16 Where can the farmer lodge a complaint in case of any grievance?
 | The farmer who has insured his/her crop and has any sort of grievance, can lodge complaint in the Farmer Corner of the BSB Portal or through the toll free number or email id of Insurance Company. The farmer can also lodge a complaint with the Asst. Director of Agriculture of the Block.
